Garden Heating FAQ's

  • How do I use and care for my clay chimenea?

Before using you should place a minimum layer of 5cm of normal sand in the base. This protects the appliance from excessive heat and cracking. Fuel must not be burnt directly on the appliance base. To start a fire, place a small amount of kindling wood and rolled newspaper in the base of the chimenea on top of the sand. Light the paper and allow a flame to build up. Once sufficiently alight, add a small log and allow it to burn slowly. Allow the log to burn out and leave the Chimenea to cool. Repeat this procedure at least twice more. This seals any pores with soot and cures the Chimenea. You can then build larger fires using a couple of logs.

  • Do you supply gas bottles for the firepits and outdoor heaters?

No, we are unable to supply you with gas bottles for the firepit tables and large outdoor heaters. However, we do offer a pierceable gas cartridge for our Cosiscoops. These are available online and in-store.

  • Can I cook on my tabletop firepit?

Yes, you can! If you have a Bramblecrest firepit table we can supply you with a suitable griddle, these griddles have two sides. One side is ridged and the other is flat. Maze firepit dining sets come with a griddle as standard. You can cook a variety of things on the griddle from juicy steaks to yummy char-grilled vegetables.

  • How do I clean my firepit table?

Always make sure that the firepit has cooled down before you clean it. Bramblecrest recommends that you remove the lava rocks periodically and examine the burner and its components. Clean the portholes in the burner and check there are no blockages. Make sure the gas bottle and hose are not cracked or damaged. You can remove the glass safety shield and use a clean cloth and glass cleaner.
